Miguel Gabaldón is a multidisciplinary creator based in Madrid.
His two main fields are collage and audiovisual.
The intention that moves his collage work is to give a second life to the paintings that have accompanied a lifetime (mainly in parents and grandparents homes) now abandoned in the streets, second-hand stores and weekend street markets. A sentimental memory about to get lost in landfills. Objects full of history but with a risk of minimalist exclusion that the artist tries to rescue by playing with other referents directly form original comic and children's books.
Regarding the audiovisual aspect, after finishing his studies in the ECAM (School of cinematography and audiovisual of the Community of Madrid) he works in multiple positions in the film industry and theatre scene. As for his audiovisual work based on short films, he is committed to an intimate cinema and the diversity and universality of feelings focused from an LGBTIQ+ perspective.

La intención que mueve su obra de collage es otorgar una segunda vida a los cuadros que han acompañado toda una vida (también la familiar de padres y abuelos), ahora abandonados en calles, tiendas de segunda mano y rastros de domingo. Una memoria sentimental a punto de perderse en vertederos. Objetos llenos de historia pero con riesgo de exclusión minimalista que el artista intenta rescatar jugando con otros referentes procedentes de forma directa de cómics, cuentos y libros infantiles ilustrados originales.
En cuanto a la vertiente audiovisual, después de terminar sus estudios de dirección en la ECAM (Escuela de la cinematografía y el audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid) trabaja en múltiples puestos de la industria cinematográfica y de la escena teatral. En cuanto a su obra audiovisual basada en cortometrajes, apuesta por un cine intimista y la diversidad y la universalidad de los sentimientos enfocada desde una óptica LGBTIQ+.
